Pistol Basics is Waypoint’s foundational pistol course, designed for new and developing shooters seeking to build safe, confident, and repeatable pistol-handling skills. Through a combination of classroom instruction, dry-fire training, and live-fire exercises, students will learn the principles of marksmanship, efficient pistol manipulation, presentation from the holster, movement, reloads, malfunction clearance, and target transitions using proven instructional methods. Open to responsible citizens who can legally possess a firearm, as well as law enforcement professionals looking to reinforce the fundamentals, this course provides the knowledge and practical skills needed to build a solid foundation for continued training. Total training time 8 hours. Required equipment: Pistol, minimum of three magazines (five recommended), pistol holster, magazine pouches, belt. Sorry, no Sig Sauer P320 model pistols allowed in this course.
